The roads to Margou
Getting here is part of the journey. Follow the directions calmly: the last stretch is on a dirt road.
From Porto
A1 or A29, then exit onto the A25 towards Viseu, exit S. Pedro do Sul.
From Lisbon
A1 or A8/A17, then exit onto the A25 Aveiro/Viseu (towards Viseu), exit S. Pedro do Sul.

In S. Pedro do Sul, follow the sign for Santa Cruz da Trapa.

In Santa Cruz da Trapa, follow the sign for Fraguinha until you reach the village of Coalheira.

In Coalheira, follow the sign for S. Macário and stay on that road. Pass the right turn to Arada and then the right turn to S. Pedro do Sul.

At the next junction, turn left (easy to miss, just after a blue sign reading “Bem-vindo à Freguesia de Covas do Rio”).

Continue a little along the unpaved road to the car park and park there. Maria will be waiting for you in her jeep!
