At Casa Margou we take our visitors’ privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect through the casamargou.pt website, what we use it for and what your rights are, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we collect and why

• Retreat registration: name, email, phone, tax number (NIF), date of birth, address, your answers about the retreat and any dietary restrictions. We use this data to manage your registration, organise the retreat (including meals), issue an invoice and contact you. Legal basis: performance of the contract and compliance with legal obligations (invoicing).
• Booking requests and contact by email or phone: the data you send us, to reply to your request.
• Newsletter: your email, to send you news about retreats and Casa Margou. Legal basis: your consent, which you confirm by email and can withdraw at any time using the link at the end of each newsletter.
• Statistics and advertising (Meta Pixel): only with your consent in the cookie notice. See section 4.

3. During the retreat

During the retreats, photos and some videos are taken to share within the group, and they may be used to promote future events. If you prefer not to appear, just tell us during the retreat.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use:

• Necessary cookies: for the site to work and to remember your choice in the cookie notice (cm_consent cookie, 6 months). They do not require consent.
• Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram): measures visits to the site and allows Casa Margou ads to be shown to interested people. It is only activated if you click “Accept”. Cookies such as _fbp (up to 3 months). Provider: Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.
• External content: YouTube videos are loaded in privacy-enhanced mode; the fonts come from Google Fonts.

You can change your choice at any time: change cookie preferences. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

5. Who we share data with

We don’t sell your data. We only use providers who help us run the site and communicate with you: website and email hosting (dominios.pt), newsletter sending (Mailchimp, Intuit Inc.) and, with your consent, Meta. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union, with the safeguards set out in the GDPR.

6. How long we keep data

Registration data is kept for as long as it is needed for the retreat and, afterwards, for the period required by law for tax purposes. Your newsletter email is kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Your rights

You can ask at any time to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, and object to its processing, by emailing reservas@casamargou.pt. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (www.cnpd.pt).
